Get Paid to Write - Make Money Writing

This is one of the mainstays of the freelance writing career. Don’t enter this site without a good CV and portfolio.  I personally know full time writers who make more than $10 000 a year from www.elance.com. This site is one that challenges the myth ‘don’t pay for writing jobs.’  There is a fee, but any writer who is serious, and skilled, will make it back.  News reports (CBSnews) states that even equire magazine posted on Elance.

The fee is more than reasonable. A Basic account is FREE. A Pro Account is $9.99 a month, with the opportunity to buy more Service Categories.  There is a 7% fee attached to the jobs.   I did like the idea that they now let writers ‘pay as you go.’ If you don’t need work for 2 or 3 months then you don’t pay.  

All plans include a searchable profile page listing your skills, contact information and project portfolio, a specific number of Connects, enabling you to submit proposals on posted projects. Add-on components are also available on an a la carte basis so writers can customize their membership with additional service categories or Connects.

Some jobs at this site exceed $1000 but the competition is aggressive.
