Make Money Writing: Africa, China, India - Anywhere

There is a lot of opportunity for anyone who wants to make money when writing from another country. The first concern may be whether or not you can get paid. However, if you can purchase from eBay.com then you can get paid. The eBay company owns www.paypal.com . This is one of the most secure payment gateways in the world. I’ve had several writers say that their bank does not work with paypal. Don’t worry.

If your country has ATM machines then you can use a Paypal bank card to withdraw your money, whether paypal works with the country or not.  All professional blogging and freelance writing companies, even short story and novel publishers pay through paypal.

It is easy to find work. All you need to do is visit the sites where employers look for writers:

If you have a credit card then you can sign up for ifreelance. Registration at guru.com is free.

What you need to get started:

  • A blog
    • Several blogs are a better idea. Cover the topics you want people to see you writing.
    • Stick to the free sites: wordpress.com or blogger.com
    • Post once a day
    • Use this blog to prove you can write. Do not use it to tell the world about yourself.
  • A portfolio

    • The best portfolio can be built at squidoo.com and/or ifreelance

      • Tell a little about yourself

      • Include a picture

      • List your blogs

      • Post some of your stories

      • Include a very short resume

  • A profile
    • A profile tells the potential clients why you are the best person to write for them. Spend some time going around the web. Learn how other writers promote themselves. Think of your profile as your marketing and promoting.

How Much To Be Paid

Payment is not based on where you live, or whether English is your first language. It is based on your experience.

A first year writer who doesn’t work full time can expect to be paid .01 a word.  This may seem low, but it is a learning curve. Remember that you cannot include client’s work in your profile or portfolio.

A second year writer who has had at least 10 clients, and can write on topics other writers find difficult can ask $.02 - $.05 per word. The average mid level article price is $8 - $10.00.

An experienced writer who can meet deadlines and has written more than 100 articles on their sites can ask for $.05 - $.10 a word.

Do not thing that an education will get you a higher fee. Education and experience has very little value in this industry. Clients are looking for people who can finish articles fast, write on topics without copying from already published articles, and belong to associations and news groups that give them ‘cutting edge’ information that other clients won’t have. People get paid to write origional, unique articles.

The rest of the information you need to start making $5 000 - $25 000 a year as a writer can be found on this blog, or at www.getpaidtowriteonline.com
